She believes she would be homeless if not for the generosity of catholic charities Brooklyn and queens. people are still hurting out there. and they still need that support.
reporter: Richard, senior vice president for the mission, tells us there is a food pantry outside of our lady of angels regularly. Wednesdays are special. who wants a pumpkin?
reporter: This is the Halloween harvest boot pop up. volunteers hand out essentials. the line goes all the way around to the other side., it is a lot of people in need.

reporter: Are rallying cry for the government to do more. while the resources and funds continue to diminish, the need for sustenance has not. folks wait hours for fresh food from sunnyside community services. families are out here, seniors are out here, no matter what, lining up for the food. we believe the need will grow. I think we are position to do our absolute possible best.
